A first-rate example of this deservedly popular lightweight classic machine from Honda.
Before I purchased it, the bike had a full engine overhaul by a retired Honda mechanic, with receipts for over £700. Since taking it over earlier this year I have fitted new rear suspension units, an uprated front brake master cylinder, and new brake pads and linings. I have installed a round headlamp which I think looks better but the original rectangular unit will be provided with the bike. TT100 tyres which are almost new are fitted front and rear. The chain and sprockets are in excellent condition. A Motad aftermarket exhaust system which is in great condition is fitted.
The frame and swinging arm are powder coated. The general paintwork although sound with no rust present, is past its best with a few scuffs and marks although still presentable. All electrics work as intended.
The little Honda is an easy starter and runs very well with no rattles, knocks or oil leaks. Roadholding, handling and braking are spot-on. It is of course MoT exempt and benefits from the Historic Vehicle tax rate (ie free).
Reason for sale? I'm no longer as slim and lightweight as I was in my youth and need something with a little more power. The CB250 was bought as an alternative to my 500cc Norton and I'm afraid suffers a little in comparison. But as a light, manageable bike for the back roads and traffic it's hard to beat.
Look carefully at the photos and video - any inspection welcome. As always, photos may flatter a bit. I'm in Redditch. Asking £1,500.
